Facebook Wins 2010 Website Search Hit Race
Netusers use facebook more than any other social media site
followed by Google, Yahoo, Utube, Craigslist, Myspace and Ebay
according to Experian Hitlist & WARC.
From a sociologist/researcher's viewpoint, this is a significant change
because people are connecting, communicating, interacting and
sharing common interests and experiences through social media
sites more than ever before.
People are becoming more comfortable with using computers and
the internet to communicate their needs, beliefs, feelings and ways
of getting things accomplished.
This is a good thing because since the launch of the digital age
especially in the workplace where there is less face-to-face communication
with fellow workers which impacts not only work relationships but family
relationships as well, in a negative sense.
The economic crisis and soaring unemployment rates have caused
families to migrate to other states to find decent work, housing
and education to provide for their family's but more importantly to
feel safe and secure.
Experian Hitlist provides global intelligence information services
"helps business credit risk, prevent fraud, target marketing offers
and automate decision making. Experian also helps individuals to
check their credit report-credit score and protect against identity theft."
This is important information to note because more and more huge
corporations are collectively negotiating and joining forces to be more
competitive, effective and efficient in making the ALL MIGHTY BUCK!
Now get this ... "Experian employs approximately 15,000 people in 40 countries"
"headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, Nottingham, UK; Costa Mesa, Brazil"
and California is the only U.S. city out of 40 foriegn countries.
You do the math!
I predict, beyond 2012 ... corporations such as, Experian Hitlist among other
intelligence services, collectively will use social media networks, such as
Facebook to find consumer information and use it to thier advantage, despite
privacy laws. Presently, social science scholars believe' “Facebook is the key site
of the moment.” ' to study young adults and their social interaction, namely,
"romance." The NY Times
The bottom line ... is consumers or netusers need to becareful about how much
information they provide social media websites; meaning Facebook.
As Facebook grows and takes on the character of other corporate mongrels
in order to stay in the race.
Who knows what will change or potentially to happen to facebook user information.
